![]() Which was also me trying to explain why people often call the Wolf the Werewolf. I was stating that their inspiration and what they are based off of are common depictions of Werewolves and not a anthropomorphised idea of what a wolf would be like. Also that seems out of character for the "I use nothing but my own body" race.Īlso what are you trying to argue against Biag? Are you telling me the Wolves are not werewolves because I already knew that. Lugaru/Overgrowth's wolves don't turn into people, ever, which kind of defeats the label. Pretty much anything else you can think of has been changed in some story or other the werewolves in Harry Potter are anthropomorphic with razor claws, while the werewolves in some folklore are just regular dudes who turn into regular wolves, while the werewolves in some stories don't change shape at all but inhabit the wolf's body temporarily. If you want an explanation, Lugaru's wolves are smart and bloodthirsty enough to sharpen them.Īlso, the principal feature of a werewolf is that it changes from a man to a wolf and back again. It's big and bulky so that it has an instantly-recognizable silhouette, and the claws are sharp both to add damage and because sharp claws are cooler. The purpose of the wolf was not to add realistic(ish) wolves, but to add an enemy that was stronger, faster, and deadlier than the rabbits- a natural predator. ![]() The internet didn't have anything to say about wolf claws, but have you ever been scratched by a big dog? It hurts, man, they don't need to be very sharp.
