The H9 is so much complicated! How can I work around this? I'd like to have for example 1 Chorus sound and assign it to different patches with different channels on the amp. Just tweak the preset hit save on the JP2C and voila. With the Strymons I used to program a Chorus or Tremolo or Flanger sound and assign it to different patches with different amp channel configurations without a problem. I don't know if I'm making myself clear enough. If I save the patch using channel 1 on the amp it saves without a problem but then if I try to go that channel 2 Tremolo patch it will stay on Channel 1 instead of switching to channel 2. I program a patch on the Musicom where I want the amp to switch to channel 2 and the H9 to a Tremolo with a single stomp and I am able to do this and save it however, if I want to create another patch (let's say using channel 1 on the amp) with this same Tremolo patch, whenever I switch to the Tremolo patch it automatically switches the amp to channel 2 every time. I got the board wired so that I can switch presets and the channels on the amp at the same time however, the amp channel switch command seems to be tied to a specific preset on the H9s. Had a basic clean patch and have the Strymons switch to a Bank where I had a Phaser or a Plate Reverb so I could just kick 'em in any time. With the Strymons I used to do this without a problem. I program a Clean sound with just a Compressor on one of the H9s but I would like the other H9 to switch to a Chorus (deactivated) so I can just kick it in whenever I want to instead of having to scroll banks in order to get to a Chorus sound. I can get the H9s to scroll up & down the presets but I can't seem to find how to activate/deactivate them using MIDI. With the H9 I can't figure out how to do that! Which leads me to my. I got them wired to my Musicom MKIV on separate loops and using MIDI (with the Strymons I had all three into the same loop and just turned them on & off as I pleased using CCs & PC commands). Also it was much easier to work with them, like a Plug-N-Play approach compared to the complicated process of the H9 (tried to contact Eventide Staff in order to get help on the subject but they were of absolutely no use). On a personal note/opinion, in sound quality Strymon destroys Eventide BY FAR. I used to have a MIDI ready Strymon based board (Timeline/Mobius/Big Sky) that worked wonders however, recently I switched to H9's (two of them) as I was trying to downsize my rig. Hopefully more people are stuck/stumped/having issues on this subject like me and can benefit from this post. This time dealing with the Eventide H9 (and specifically in conjunction with the Musicom MKIV and the Mesa Boogie JP2C amp). Īlso, I learned CC #97 is hold, though it's not listed in their MIDI spec (error on their end).I once posted a thread seeking help on the Musicom MKIV and got a lot of helpful tips/info from the community so here I go again. I fixed it but you might want to update that in the next update. value of 0, 1, 2, or 3 depending on what you want to happen. PS - I found an error in the setup for the Ventris on the RJM. My settings file is attached in case it helps. Any tips? Do I need to somehow slow down the MIDI messages? I do notice that the H9 "active" button flashes, so it's hearing something, but maybe not long enough or not in the right sequence? So I can manually turn on or off the H9 and Ventris with the PBC, but I can't do it with a switch of presets, which is of course where I want to get to. The footswitches all work fine and as expected: click once turns on a function, a second time turns it off.īut when I switch presets on the PBC 6x, the footswitch messages I've set up somehow get lost. (also the h9 hot switch but let's ignore that for now). I have assigned a footswitch on the PBC to control the bypass on the H9, and the bypass and 2nd engine on the Ventris. I'm controlling an Eventide H9 and a Source Audio Ventris from the PBC6X. I'm having some issues with the PBC6X sending MIDI commands on preset changes.
